The Drought School Library is located at Drought School - Norway J7 School District in Franksville, WI.
I am Ann Henderson, the school's library media specialist. I began working at Drought School in the Fall of 2016. I am originally from North Dakota. I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Elementary Education and Library/AV Instruction. I earned my Master's of Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to coming to Drought School, I worked in Racine Unified School District as an elementary librarian for 25 years. I am married with 2 sons, one in high school and the other in elementary school. My favorite hobby (obsession) is reading, reading and more reading! I also work at North Cape Lutheran Church as the Office Manager and the bell choir director.
Students come to our library once each week for library, information literacy, and technology related lessons and activities. I work from 7:30-11:00 on Wednesdays. Grades K-4 come on Wednesday mornings for 30 minutes class sessions. Grades 5-8 come on Friday mornings for 55 minute class sessions. I work from 7:30-2:00 on Fridays. On Fridays I also work with our lower grade PBL (project based learning) in the afternoon!
My goals for the Drought School Library are to improve and update our resources in print and digital forms, to bring our library into the 21st century through resources, instruction and communication, to promote reading, and to offer instruction and activities that help our students become better readers, researchers, thinkers and digital citizens.
